Uncut horror with FSK 18: One of the toughest cinema films of 2021 is available now.

Not only was it one of the most brutal entries in the entire series, it was also one of the bloodiest films to hit the cinema in 2021. After “Halloween Kills” already landed on WOW, it’s now available on Amazon Prime Video as a subscription.

Michael Myers instantly became the ultimate horror movie icon with “Halloween – The Night of Horror”. What made John Carpenter’s classic so special (in contrast to some of the numerous sequels) was the fact that, compared to the countless imitators like “Friday the 13th”, it largely avoided explicit bloodthirsty carnage. The slasher lived above all from its goosebump atmosphere, its suspense and the fear that the masked killer could be lurking around every corner. But that was then.

More than 40 years later, things look a little different: Michael Myers has not only killed countless teenagers, but has also become more and more creative over the years. After all, his audience wants to see something new! But in the latest chapter of the “Halloween” saga, the Haddonfield killer really turns up the heat when it comes to violence. And that’s exactly what you can now see for yourself in a particularly convenient way: “Halloween Kills” is now available as a subscription on Amazon Prime Video:

The carnage is available in the uncut FSK-18 version and is a must for all fans of “Halloween”, with which director David Gordon Green started the great Myers revival.

“HALLOWEEN KILLS”: BETWEEN SLAUGHTER PLATE AND SOCIAL CRITICISM

In “Halloween Kills”, which directly follows its predecessor, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) initially believe that they have destroyed Michael Myers once and for all – but far from it. The killer makes his way out of the burning house where the trio left him, and soon continues his assassination hunt.

Meanwhile, in Haddonfield, people take to the streets to voice their displeasure at the authorities for failing to apprehend Myers. The ringleader of the outraged population is Tommy Doyle (Anthony Michael Hall), who was once chased by the murderer himself in his childhood and only narrowly escaped him…

All of the people in Haddonfield are outraged.

On the way from “Halloween” to “Halloween Ends”, Michael Myers slaughters his way through Haddonfield “more mercilessly and sadistically than ever before”, says FILMSTARTS chief critic Christoph Petersen in our review. Halloween Kills” offers above all a lot of visual spectacle, with which not least insatiable gorehounds should have a great time. In terms of content, the film is a bit treading water and the social commentary with the crowbar falls pretty flat, but in the umpteenth sequel to a slasher series, all that is only a minor matter next to blood and carnage anyway…
