2022 the coming-of-age series “The Summer I Became Beautiful” was very popular on Amazon Prime Video. Now season 2 has started, but with only three episodes. We reveal when the rest will appear on the streaming service.
Even before the launch of the novel adaptation “The Summer I Became Beautiful”, it was clear that the story about young Belly (Lola Tung), who is torn between her friends Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) during the summer holidays, will get a second season, after all, the three-volume original also offers enough material for several seasons.
Nevertheless, it took almost a year until the new season, which is based on the second volume of the novel trilogy, was supposed to see the light of day in the streaming world. But now the time has finally come: the second season of “The Summer I Became Beautiful” launched on Amazon Prime Video today, 14 July 2023.
Those who were looking forward to a binge weekend with the complete season will be disappointed. Amazon has only made three episodes available for the season opener. We give you an overview of how many episodes are still to come and when they will be released.
“THE SUMMER WHEN I BECAME BEAUTIFUL”: THEN EPISODE 4 AND THE REST OF SEASON 2 WILL BE RELEASED
The piecemeal release of the second “The Summer I Became Beautiful” season is also upsetting to fans of Season 1 in that its seven episodes were available in one go at the time. In the meantime, however, it is more common for Amazon Originals to release several episodes at the beginning of a new series or series season, but the remaining episodes are then released at weekly intervals – and this is now also the case with “Der Sommer, als ich schön wurde”.
After the first three episodes, the other episodes will find their way to Amazon Prime Video on Fridays in the coming weeks. The fourth episode will be released next Friday, 21 July 2023. In total, the season will comprise eight episodes this time and thus even one episode more than season 1. The season finale will be on 18 August. It is not yet known whether “Der Sommer, als ich schön wurde” will continue after the end of the second season and whether the third and last book of the underlying novel trilogy will be adapted. So far, at least, a third season has not been announced.
