While horror fans are currently flocking to the cinemas for “The Nun II”, many science fiction enthusiasts can probably hardly wait for the cinema release of Gareth Edwards’ “The Creator” (28 September 2023). But what many might not have in mind is a terrific mix that could appeal to fans of both genres – which you can stream now:
“No One Will Save You” celebrates its international streaming premiere today, 22 September. You can stream the film now on Disney+, while the 20th Century Studios production can be seen in the US on Hulu:
Director and screenwriter Brian Duffield’s film is wowing critics. We also give it an unqualified recommendation in our FILMSTARTS review. Our author Sidney Schering gives it an outstanding 4.5 out of 5 possible stars. His conclusion:
A career-best acting performance amidst a highly suspenseful, entertaining and emotional mishmash of sci-fi, horror and thriller traditions: Loneliness hasn’t been as gruelling as in No One Will Save You for a long time.

WHAT “NO ONE WILL SAVE YOU” IS ABOUT
Outcast Brynn Adams (Kaitlyn Dever, “Booksmart”) has had her life played out so badly that the talented artist now lives in complete seclusion. Alone, far away from others, she feels comfortable and safe in her home. But that’s exactly what changes one night.
When Brynn is roused from her sleep by strange noises, she tracks down the source – and eventually discovers that alien beings have apparently gained access to her home and are now targeting her. But the young woman has no intention of surrendering without a fight…

.. you should definitely also catch up on “Burst”, Brian Duffield’s first and so far only directorial effort, before he now goes for another original genre mash-up with “No One Will Save You”. Only that in his debut work, romcom, coming-of-age story and fantasy with a splatter touch come together. And it’s as charming and endearing as it is entertaining – as well as with a large portion of heart.
In this teen film (which is by no means just for teens), Mara (Katherine Langford) and Dylan (Charlie Plummer) struggle for bare survival when their classmates suddenly begin to literally explode for inexplicable reasons. In the face of danger, the two grow closer and closer – and learn to live in the here and now. After all, any moment could be their last before they too burst…
