The next big fantasy film adaptation is waiting in the wings at Amazon Prime: Silver and the Book of Dreams is coming on December 8, 2023, filming the prelude to a popular fantasy trilogy from Germany.

The German fantasy film Silver and the Book of Dreams is set in London, where Liv (Jana McKinnon) finally wants to settle down after many restless years of moving. There, however, she meets the mysterious Henry (Rhys Mannion), who holds strange rituals with his friends in the cemetery. Through him, Liv learns about lucid dreaming: As dream travelers, they can travel to adventurous worlds. But the fulfillment of every dream has a price, especially as the fascinating excursions can quickly slide into nightmares.

Silver and the Book of Dreams by director Helena Hufnagel is based on the first volume of the book trilogy of the same name called Silver * by Kerstin Gier. The fantasy novels are very popular with young people in Germany and parts 2 and 3 even both made it to number 1 on the Spiegel bestseller list.
The fantasy author’s name may also be familiar to many. Kerstin Gier also wrote the source material for the Gemstone trilogy, which was adapted for the movies in Ruby Red, Sapphire Blue and Emerald Green. Silver is now the next fantasy trilogy from her pen to be filmed by Amazon Prime.
