Peeta actor Josh Hutcherson from The Hunger Games is currently being celebrated again for his famous role. But there’s one thing he doesn’t like about his Hunger Games experience

Josh Hutcherson is currently experiencing a small renaissance as an actor. Many fans are rediscovering the Peeta actor on social media. This is partly due to his starring role in Five Nights at Freddy’s and partly due to the renewed interest in The Hunger Games in the wake of The Hunger Games – The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. However, the star himself has recently had rather mixed feelings about his most famous character

Josh Hutcherson knew he was perfect as Peeta in Hunger Games, but …

When Josh Hutcherson auditioned for the role of Peeta Mellark alongside Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen in 2011’s The Hunger Games, he did so with conviction.

It’s so crazy. Until I read the [Hunger Games] books, I had never met a character who was so much like me as a person. [Peeta] had exactly my core values and views.

It kind of freaked me out that I felt I was so right for the role but still had to go through this crazy process of auditioning. After we finally shot the movie, someone has to pinch me first because I still didn’t believe it had actually happened.

Josh Hutcherson regretted The Hunger Games after the fact because of one thing

Josh Hutcherson was also allowed to return as Peeta in the following three films, The Hunger Games – Catching Fire, The Hunger Games – Mockingjay Part 1 and The Hunger Games – Mockingjay Part 2. He was always happy about the pleasant atmosphere on set and his good relationships with Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and co. However, there was one thing that made him regret having dedicated himself to the Hunger Games

There are times when Letue wait outside my house for me to go out and follow me wherever I go until I return home. I wouldn’t have signed up [for The Hunger Games] if I knew I would lose my freedoms as an American.

After ten years, the most intense phase of his Hunger Games fame has subsided for the star. Now he can be a little more relaxed about his fame and look for new projects. After his most recent appearance in the horror game adaptation Five Nights at Freddy’s, his next film appearance is already scheduled for January 11, 2024 in the Jason Statham thriller The Beekeeper.
