The wackiest superhero film of 2024 sends Peter Dinklage into the race

The Toxic Avenger is set to deliver a remake of Atomic Hero this year after its festival premiere in 2023 and is therefore less reminiscent of Marvel’s The Avengers than The Boys in its level of violence: janitor Winston Gooze (Peter Dinklage) is disfigured by a toxic accident and mutates into perhaps the most unusual Avenger of the year. Even Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood doesn’t win any beauty contests in one of the first images from the wacky horror superhero film.
