Marvel has revealed the biggest stars of the new Fantastic Four movie. There are two details in the announcement that even big MCU fans may not have noticed.
Perhaps Marvel fans will eventually only recognize the Anvengers as a faint memory. At least if the Fantastic Four superhero team soon outstrips them. Marvel recently announced the star cast of its upcoming blockbuster Fantastic Four, including Pedro Pascal. But in addition to the actors, two easily overlooked details were also hidden in the picture.
Marvel reveals when The Fantastic Four is set
Firstly, observant fans have found a clue as to when Marvel’s superhero epic is set to take place. In the picture, Ben Grimm / The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) is reading a magazine whose cover looks suspiciously like Life Magazine

And indeed: there is a real-life model for the vaguely held envelope in the picture, namely Life Magazine from December 13, 1963, which shows US President Lyndon B. Johnson behind his desk. Fantastic Four fans therefore assume that the movie is also set close to this date.
A veteran Marvel hero gets to move around the big screen for the first time
The second detail cannot be overlooked visually, but only unfolds its significance in context. To the left of Ben Grimm, a small robot serves a drink. This is HERBIE (often explained in the original as Humanoid Experimental Robot, B-Type, Integrated Electronics). The fans are thrilled

HERBIE has existed in the Fantastic Four universe since 1978, as Polygon explains. Since then, however, he has never appeared as an actor on the big screen: He only made an appearance in deactivated form in the extended cut of Tim Story’s Fantastic Four. So his movie debut is coming soon. But when?
When will the new Fantastic Four film be released in cinemas?
Fantastic Four has swapped places with fellow superhero Thunderbolts and will be released in cinemas on May 2, 2025. In addition to Pedro Pascal, the Marvel cast of the film includes Vanessa Kirby.
