Who will be the next James Bond? According to a new report, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is as good as confirmed as Daniel Craig’s successor. Now an insider from the 007 production is speaking out.
For almost three years now, James Bond fans have been eagerly waiting to find out who will portray the legendary 007 agent next after Daniel Craig’s departure in No Time to Die. Now the guesswork could soon be over.
This week, a new report in the British tabloid press fueled the rumor mill. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to become the new Bond star and has even already received an offer for the 007 job. An insider from the Bond production has now been asked about this
What does the James Bond insider say about the casting of Aaron Taylor-Johnson?
The Sun tabloid’s report should be taken with a grain of salt, as the news of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Bond offer is said to have come from unnamed sources. Several industry sites have now made direct enquiries with the bond company EON Production.
As expected, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson’s production company will not comment on the speculation. Instead, BBC News received an update from a source within EON, who claims that there is “no truth to the rumors”. Deadline also spoke to an EON insider who, however, did not specifically deny the report.
So what are the chances for Aaron Taylor-Johnson? The former Kick-Ass star, who will soon also star in the Marvel film Kraven the Hunter, has long been considered one of the biggest Bond favorites. Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer), James Norton (Rogue Agent), Damson Idris (Snowfall) and several other stars have also been mentioned as potential Craig successors.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson was asked about the James Bond rumors just last week in an interview with Numéro:
‘I think it’s flattering and wonderful that people see me in this role. I see it as a great compliment.
Official confirmation of the 007 speculation is still pending. Hopefully we’ll find out soon whether Taylor-Johnson really gets the role. We’ll keep you up to date with the latest developments on Moviepilot
