Some fans of the Amazon series Reacher would like to see lead actor Alan Ritchson as the next James Bond. The star himself doesn’t find the role very appealing.
James Bond is the dream of all action stars. At least that’s how it seems for all the actors whose fans would like to see them cast as 007. Alan Ritchson, star of the Amazon Prime hit Reacher, is one of them. But he has no desire to take on the role of the British agent.

To Entertainment Weekly Ritchson explained:
‘I think Reacher is the American James Bond. People will hate me for it. I love Bond, but I find him a bit misogynistic and predictable now.

Reacher doesn’t really have a clue about his own sophistication, says Ritchson. Bond, on the other hand, always knows how cool or capable or indestructible he is. According to the Amazon Prime star, this reduces the emotional stakes of the story. “As an audience, we’re already too experienced to find that entertaining,” he explains.
Whether Ritchson is right is up to each fan to decide. The fact is that the 007 producers try to capture a new zeitgeist with every new actor. Whether they will succeed with the next James Bond remains to be seen
