Wednesday continues with season 2: all the info on the trailer, start and cast of the Netflix sequel

by Tommy

Wednesday became one of the streamer’s biggest series hits on Netflix. Now a 2nd season is to follow. You can find out everything you need to know about it here

The first season of Wednesday became a mega hit on Netflix in the fall of 2022. With 252.1 million views within the first 91 days of its release, the series holds the title of the most-streamed English-language Netflix series of all time, according to Netflix. So it’s no wonder that the horror hit starring Jenna Ortega has gathered a loyal fan base that is already eagerly awaiting season 2. The sequel is, of course, already in the works.

Here we will keep you up to date on all developments regarding season 2. Everything you need to know about the start, the cast and the story of the Wednesday sequel can be found here

When and where is the 2nd season of Wednesday starting?

After Wednesday was also affected by the writers’ and actors’ strikes in Hollywood, production of season 2 was massively delayed. It only started at the end of April 2024 in Ireland. As the production of season 1 took around six months, a similar schedule is expected for season 2.

A start is therefore unlikely before 2025. An official date has not yet been announced. However, the new episodes will be shown on Netflix, just like season 1

What is known about the plot of Wednesday season 2?

No details about the plot of Wednesday season 2 are known yet. However, showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough and Jenna Ortega have spoken about the new episodes in various interviews. Here’s what you can expect:

Tyler, the monster is to continue his mischief in season 2, which has been confirmed by the return of Hunter Doohan.
The Addams family will play a more central role in the new episodes. Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán and Isaac Ordonez have thus been added to the main cast in season 2 from their status as guest stars in season 1.
The friendship between Wednesday and Enid will be explored further, according to the series creators.
Jenna Ortega also promised “more horror and more action” for season 2, as well as a darker undertone. At the same time, the focus should be less on romantic relationships for Wednesday. This in turn is underpinned by the missing return of Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe, who acted as a love interest in season 1
