After Ridley Scott’s plans for further Alien prequels fell through, the legendary sci-fi series returned in August with a new part that tells a completely different story. Alien: Romulus is set between the first two films in the saga and revolves around an exciting heist mission in space.
At the center of the story is young Rain Carradine (Cailee Spaeny), who does everything she can to escape forced labor in a grim mining colony. But the Weyland-Yutani corporation is merciless. Only the theft of cryostasis capsules from an abandoned space station can save them from hell.

Alien: Romulus opened in cinemas in Germany on August 15, 2024 and in the USA one day later. Since then, the sci-fi film has had a remarkable run on the big screen. After its first opening weekend, the film had already achieved a worldwide box office result of 108 million US dollars.
According to figures from Box Office Mojo, this figure has tripled in the meantime: the 80 million US dollar sci-fi blockbuster has now earned 315 million US dollars. This makes Alien: Romulus the second most successful film in the series behind Prometheus – a considerable success considering the high age rating
