Since last week, we know that Tom Holland will officially return to the big screen as Spider-Man in 2026. But before that, we will get to know a completely different version of the superhero.

While Tom Hardy’s Venom bids farewell to the cinema with a final dance, we need not worry about Spider-Man’s future. Sony has several projects in development that revolve around the iconic Marvel hero, most notably the sequel Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland.

However, Holland is not the only actor we will soon see swinging through New York in a live-action project. None other than Nicolas Cage is donning the mask of the web-slinger and is out and about keeping the peace as Spider-Man Noir, aka Spider-Noir. Now the first images of the filming have been released.

Marvel series with Nicolas Cage is coming to Amazon: first images of the filming of Spider-Noir

Filming for Spider-Noir has been underway since August. The Marvel series is an offshoot of the Spider-Verse films, in which Cage has already lent his voice to the black-and-white superhero. Now he is appearing in front of the camera as Spider-Noir for the first time. Nevertheless, he is presumably not visible in person in the first set pictures.

It is doubtful whether Cage is actually in the costume. It is very likely that we are watching the work of a stuntman who, as Spider-Noir, clings to the roof of a car. In the following picture, you can take an even closer look at the costume, which lacks the typical Spidey colors.

No red, no blue: Spider-Noir moves through the gritty world of 1930s New York. Here, we are immersed in a detective story that is likely to differ from current superhero blockbusters in many ways. As the title already makes clear: the great inspiration is film noir.

Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street) and Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher) are the creative minds behind the project, which brings the obscure comic book character into live-action territory. Despite its Spider-Verse connection, the series officially belongs to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU), which also includes Madame Web, Morbius and Venom.
