This is what we know about the story of the Netflix sequel
In Squid Game Season 2, we will see a reunion with Lee Jung-jae aka Gi-hun. In Season 1, we met the indebted gambler who agrees to play Squid Game to get back custody of his daughter and pay his mother’s hospital bills.
At the end of season 1, Gi-hun wins the competition and the prize money thanks to a bloody sacrifice. But after he learns who is really behind the Squid Game, he seeks revenge.
Season 2 takes place three years after the events and Gi-hun aka player 456 finds himself back in the brightly colored children’s playground where the participants pay with their lives. This time, he apparently wants to destroy the system from the inside out. But as the teaser trailer shows, he must first convince his fellow players of his plans.
