After the snapping glove-wearer Thanos seemed to be defeated in the MCU, his actor Josh Brolin now unexpectedly comments on the return of the big baddie.
When looking at the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most fans would probably agree that Thanos (Josh Brolin) was the best villain yet. He was defeated by the avenging superheroes in Avengers 4: Endgame. But does this mean that the purple world destroyer can never return to the MCU? His actor has now dropped the first hints about a reunion
Is Thanos returning to set a death record in the MCU?
Thanos died twice in Avengers: Endgame. In the animated Marvel series What If…?, various versions of the villain died, and in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Illuminati also killed a version of Thanos. But anyone who believes that this threat has finally been eliminated from the MCU is mistaken. In an interview in preparation for his appearance in Dune: Part Two, Thanos actor Josh Brolin told Comicbook namely:
You know, I hear through the rumor mill they’re going to bring him back. There’s the What If series and we have a different Thanos. But I don’t know if they would bring him back in the Marvel world. I didn’t realize he was the most killed Marvel villain. You learn something new every day.
Because Josh Brolin speaks very generally about rumors, it unfortunately remains unclear whether he picked them up as internal bush talk behind the scenes or elsewhere. For Avengers 5 and Avengers 6: Secret Wars, a new major villain has already been set up in the form of Kang the Conqueror, even if he is currently having to realign himself (at least in acting terms) following the sacking of Jonathan Majors. Could a variant of Thanos end up making another appearance on the side of the hero team? The multiverse makes anything possible
