The Killer: Star-studded Netflix film in which a hitman is plagued by his conscience, much to the chagrin of his clients.
Plot and background
Christian (Michael Fassbender) is a hit man. Lonely and routine, unencumbered by scruples or remorse, he waits in secret for his next deadly job. But a fateful miss results in a psychological breakdown for the cold killer, who suddenly seems to slowly develop a conscience. Christian not only finds himself in conflict with his employers, who demand that he continue to do his job, but also begins to struggle with himself. Although he dreams of retiring, his past keeps catching up with him and a job like this is not so easy to hang up.

“The Killer” – background, cast
The psychological action thriller “The Killer” is based on the French comic series “Le tueur” (German: “The Killer”) by copywriter Matz (Alexis Nolent) and cartoonist Luc Jacamon, who follow a nameless contract killer on his jobs halfway around the world, with the outwardly ice-cold killer becoming increasingly unhinged on the inside.
The successful U.S. director David Fincher adapts the comic series about the not entirely ruthless killer from a script by Andrew Kevin Walker. Fincher, who made his mark on the thriller genre with films like “Fight Club,” “Gone Girl” and “Seven,” is filming “The Killer,” another tense action thriller for the Netflix streaming service.
