Plot and background
Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) has made a name for himself in boxing, benefiting both his career and personal life. But everything changes when Damian (Jonathan Majors) shows up. Creed’s old childhood friend and former boxing prodigy is back on the loose after a long prison sentence, and he’s determined to prove his skills in the ring with Adonis Creed. The clash of the former friends means more than just a fight. In order to close this chapter for good, Adonis must put his future on the line and face the fighter who, unlike him, has nothing to lose.

With “Creed III: Rocky’s Legacy” Michael B. Jordan (“Black Panther”) returns once again to the role of Adonis Creed and also makes his directorial debut with the third part of the successful film series.
The “Creed” film series is a spin-off of the “Rocky” films and revolves around Adonis Creed, the son of the late boxer Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) from the “Rocky” series. Adonis tries to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a successful boxer while struggling with his identity and his past. Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), his father’s former rival and friend, becomes his mentor and trainer. The films show Adonis’ development as a boxer as well as his personal struggles and relationships.
A renowned cast has also been assembled for the third installment of the film series. Starring alongside Jordan are Tessa Thompson (“Thor: Love and Thunder”), Jonathan Majors (“Lovecraft Country”), Wood Harris (“Blade Runner 2049”), Florian Munteanu (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”), newcomer Mila Davis-Kent and Phylicia Rashad (“Soul”).
“Creed III: Rocky’s Legacy” opens in German theaters on March 2, 2023.
