Charlie Hunnam is still in business years after his hit series “Sons Of Anarchy”. In the crime comedy “Last Looks” he investigates a murder case – and has to deal with Mel Gibson, among others. Here is the German trailer:
Even though Charlie Hunnam will probably remain Jax Teller forever for many “Sons Of Anarchy” fans, the charismatic Brit has burned himself into the memory of cinema and TV audiences with a wide variety of roles beyond his career as a gangster biker since the big series finale (which is already eight years old). After big Hollywood films like Guillermo Del Toro’s monster robo-spectacle “Pacific Rim”, the fantasy epic “King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword” and the gangster comedy “The Gentlemen” by genre ace Guy Ritchie, “Last Looks” is now a film that was not produced for the big screen, but will soon land directly in the home cinema.
However, the recent past since Corona has shown that this does not necessarily mean a loss of quality. The well-known cast, which gets you in the mood for the fun action thriller in the German trailer for “Last Looks” above, certainly makes you sit up and take notice. Besides Hunnam, the cast includes Oscar winner Mel Gibson, Rupert Friend (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”), Morena Baccarin (“Deadpool”) as well as “Bad Boys 3” villain Jacob Scipio, cult actor Clancy Brown (“The Shawshank Redemption”) and Lucy Fry, known from fantasy films such as “Bright” and “Vampire Academy”. The film was directed by Tim Kirkby, best known for TV series such as “Veep” and “Fleabag”.
“Last Looks” will be released digitally and on DVD and Blu-ray on 11 November 2022. However, those who definitely don’t want to miss the film and would prefer to see it directly on launch day can secure their copy now:

Waldo (Charlie Hunnam) is a former Los Angeles police detective who has chosen a simple and lonely existence deep in the woods until his ex-girlfriend and former colleague Lorena (Morena Baccarin) approaches him with a request: to investigate the murder of TV superstar Alastair Pinch’s (Mel Gibson) wife.
With a heavy heart, Waldo leaves his secluded life and returns to the rough streets of the big city, where he encounters all the heinous things he actually wanted to leave behind forever. Within a very short time he has to deal with the unpredictable cop Big Jim (Clancy Brown), the brutal gangster Don Q (Jacob Scipio) and the kindergarten teacher Jayne (Lucy Fry). But all that is nothing against Pinch, a hard-as-nails alcoholic who acts like a madman. Crazy enough to kill his wife? Or was it someone else?
“Last Looks” was released in the USA in February 2022 and was received much more favourably than many other films that Mel Gibson has released in recent years. Judging by the US trade press, the cast and the quirky characters in particular seem to make for an entertaining crime thriller – which has a respectable 66 percent positive vote on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans of Hunnam, Gibson and co. in particular should definitely keep “Last Looks” on their radar.
