The next Planet of the Apes movie has been given an official title. Plus, two new stars join the cast, including a The Witcher actress.
2011’s Planet of the Apes: Prevolution laid the acclaimed foundation for a new sci-fi trilogy that continued with Planet of the Apes: Revolution and Planet of the Apes: Survival darkly and bombastically completed.
Then in March it was officially announced that a fourth Planet of the Apes film was coming. The next part will be set as a sequel many years after Planet of the Apes: Survival. After the first information about the director and the cast, the official title has now been announced. Two new stars have also been revealed for the cast.

The Witcher star stars in Planet of the Apes 4
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter the next instalment in the sci-fi series is officially titled Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Joining the already confirmed lead actor Owen Teague in the cast of the blockbuster are Peter Macon and Freya Allan.

Allan is previously best known for her role as Ciri in Netflix’s The Witcher series. Macon has starred in the sci-fi series The Orville, among others.
There is still no concrete info on the plot of the Planet of the Apes sequel, however. Director Wes Ball has directed the three Maze Runner films, among others, before the upcoming sci-fi film.
When does Planet of the Apes 4 open in cinemas?
According to the Hollywood Reporter article, production starts next month. The new Planet of the Apes film is expected to hit theatres in 2024.
