The Walking Dead is ending soon, but the franchise lives on. A new trailer now introduces all four TWD series to be seen next year

In November, a series era comes to an end. After 177 episodes and 12 years, it’s time to say goodbye to the horror milestone The Walking Dead. However, most fans will not find it too difficult to say goodbye, because the TWD series universe is far from dead.

While The Walking Dead is in the home stretch, broadcaster AMC has now released a new trailer that imagines the future of the zombie franchise beyond the end of the series. Three new series and the next Fear the Walking Dead reboot will launch in 2023.

From Daryl Dixon to Rick Grimes: these The Walking Dead spin-offs launch in 2023

The journey doesn’t end for all characters at the end of The Walking Dead. Daryl Dixon, Negan and Maggie will not be retiring, but will continue to explore the world of the zombie apocalypse in their own spin-offs next year. Likewise, in 2023, The Walking Dead’s biggest remaining mystery will finally be solved.

All The Walking Dead 2023 launches at a glance:

The spin-off Dead City is expected to kick things off, sending the mismatched Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) to New York after the end of the main series. Why they are travelling there and what they think they will find there is not yet known. The series has been filming in New York and New Jersey since July and will consist of 6 episodes. We assume a start in spring 2022.

The cameras are also already rolling for the 8th (and possibly even last) season of Fear the Walking Dead. The spin-off is undergoing a minor reboot and is leaving Texas behind as a plot location. After several years of absence, former main character Madison is back to explore the new baby-stealing community of Padre alongside Morgan Jones and his cohorts.

Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) will also get his own series. Originally intended as a spin-off about Daryl and Carol, the project underwent some creative changes and will now be without Melissa McBride. The exciting thing about this spin-off: Daryl suddenly finds himself in France, where an even more aggressive kind of undead is on the rampage. How does he get there? We will find out in the course of 6 episodes.

Probably the most exciting spin-off brings Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) back to the screens after a long time, who have to find their way back together in the midst of difficult circumstances. In the process, the Civic Republic’s superiority, which has been built up for years, will play a crucial role. It is not yet known when production will start. The start of series is therefore more likely to be at the end of 2023.
