The screenplay for the bloody, explosive revenge thriller “There Are No Saints” was penned by Oscar-nominated author Paul Schrader (“Taxi Driver”, “Like a Wild Bull”). Here is the trailer with a thoroughly promising cast:
“There Are No Saints” revolves around a tough guy named Neto (José María Yazpik), but known to the world only as “The Jesuit”. For years, the former cartel enforcer was in prison for a crime he did not commit. Now, to make matters worse, his ex-wife Nadia (Paz Vega) and her criminal lover Vincent (Neal McDonough) kidnap his son Julio (Keidrich Sellati) and take him to Mexico.
The man then devises a complex plan to free the boy. However, with stripper Inez (Shannyn Sossamon) as his only ally and no one he really trusts, this appears to be a potentially suicidal endeavour, despite his superior firearm and hand-to-hand combat skills …
In the trailer, “There Are No Saints” is reminiscent of the “John Wick” series in terms of staging and atmosphere. The action thriller will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on 4 November 2022. It is already available as VoD.
