Before The Batman 2, Colin Farrell is getting his own Penguin series about the villain. Now it’s been revealed that How I Met Your Mother star Cristin Milioti will play the daughter of a key character
DC fans will have to wait quite a while for The Batman 2. Although the sequel with Robert Pattinson has already been announced, the blockbuster is unlikely to be released before 2024. Warner Bros. is nevertheless expanding Matt Reeves’ dark universe before then – with several spin-off series, including The Penguin.
In addition to Colin Farrell in his The Batman role as a perfidious villain, another star has now been cast for a key role.

How I Met Your Mother star Cristin Milioti plays gangster boss daughter in Penguin series
Content details for the Penguin series are not yet known. Most recently, it was only announced that Mare of Easttown director Craig Zobel is on board to direct. Now, according to Variety, How I Met Your Mother star Cristin Milioti has also joined the cast of the DC series. In the sitcom, she played the titular mother of Ted’s children, who tragically passed away.
In the Penguin series, Milioti will be seen as Sofia Falcone, the daughter of gangster boss Carmine Falcone (John Turturro). Presumably she will follow in the footsteps of her father, who died in The Batman, if the spin-off is set chronologically after the events of Matt Reeves’ film. The ending of the DC blockbuster at least hinted at the Penguin now wanting to take over the powerful position of the dead Falcone.
A start date for the Penguin series has not yet been set. In addition, Warner is developing another DC series with Matt Reeves from his Batman universe, which is to be set in Arkham Asylum.
