Quentin Tarantino is currently on everyone’s lips again. The reason for this is the publication of his new book. Soon he could also be directing a complete series.
We are currently waiting in vain for a new film from Quentin Tarantino. But the master director is by no means idle. On the contrary: he is currently on a promotional tour for his new book Cinema Speculation, in which he writes about the most influential films of American cinema in the 1970s.
Quentin Tarantino teases eight-part series project for 2023
At an event in New York, he talked about the book, his career and future projects. As Variety reports, a secret series also came up, which Tarantino wants to realise as early as 2023. This series is to comprise a total of eight episodes. However, he did not reveal what the series would be about.
Tarantino is no stranger to the series format. Back in 1995, he directed an episode of the extremely popular hospital series Emergency Room – Die Not to mention the crime drama double episode CSI: Den Tätern auf der Spur – Grabesstille, which flickered across domestic screens ten years later.
Here you can watch the trailer for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood:
In February, he was also awarded the Justified revival Justified: City Primeval from FX. At the time, it was rumoured that Tarantino might be filming several episodes with Timothy Olyphant, with whom he recently worked in the wake of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
It is unclear whether this is the eight-part series Tarantino spoke of at the event in New York. From the episode count, it would certainly fit: Justified: City Primeval also consists of eight episodes. However, these are already being filmed and Michael Dinner is confirmed as the director of the pilot episode. So it stands to reason that Tarantino is hinting at a completely different project.
