Bond star Eva Green keeps France on tenterhooks in The Three Musketeers two-parter
The story should be well known. The young rifleman D’Artagnan (François Civil) befriends the veterans Athos (Vincent Cassel), Porthos (Pio Marmaï) and Aramis (Romain Duris). Together they not only survive various trivial skirmishes, but save all of France from the ice-cold intrigues of Cardinal Richelieu (Eric Ruf) and Milady de Winter (Green).
The trailer already makes it clear that there is a relatively large budget behind this historical double feature. With great attention to detail, the France of the cloak-and-dagger era was staged here as an action epic.
