Will the new Daredevil series be as brutal as the Netflix version? Charlie

by Mike

Next year in February, the first clapperboard drops on Daredevil: Born Again. In a new interview, lead actor Charlie Cox reveals what we can expect from the Marvel series

There’s no stopping the Marvel series on Disney+. For the past two years, the streaming service has been firing out one big project after another. But the biggest one is yet to come: Daredevil: Born Again. The return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock includes a total of 18 (!) episodes – a first for the MCU.

With few exceptions, most Marvel series on Disney+ seem to have settled on six episodes per season. Daredevil: Born Again sets a completely different standard, gobbling up nearly an entire year in Cox’s schedule, as the actor confirmed to NME in an interview.

Big Marvel return on Disney+: Charlie Cox on Daredevil: Born Again

The filming of Daredevil: Born Again will take place from February to December 2023. So we can expect a release in 2024 at the earliest. Cox himself expresses surprise at the scale of the series.

“I think there will be an element of a classic procedural. Not necessarily a case of the week, but something where we can really get deep into Matt Murdock, the lawyer, and what his life is like. If this is done right and he really gets his hands dirty … I think that could be pretty interesting. “

But how will the new series feel compared to Marvel’s Daredevil? Cox paraphrases his return as follows:

“In my opinion, this character works best when it’s aimed at a slightly more mature audience. My instinct is that it will be dark on Disney+, but it probably won’t be as bloody. “

Daredevil: Born Again doesn’t want to completely reinvent the character. But a few compromises will have to be made at Disney+.

“I would say [to people hoping the Disney+ series copies the Netflix series], we’ve done that. Let’s take the things that have really worked, but can we expand on them? Can we appeal to a younger audience without losing what we’ve learned? “

In the past, Cox has also said that Daredevil: Born Again is not the secret 4th season of the Netflix series. We last experienced a small taste of the new Daredevil in the form of a cameo in She-Hulk: The Lawyer.
