Marvel sequel confirmed that no one expected anymore: It’s on

Marvel is expanding its quirky series Marvel’s Hit-Monkey with a 2nd season. But at the same time, the studio is saying goodbye to it by changing its name.

A killer and a monkey merge into one and go on a revenge spree. Marvel’s hit monkey is one of the most bizarre Marvel series ever. Now it’s set to get a second season, according to reliable media site The Hollywood Reporter. Even for ultra-fans, the news will come as a surprise.

The Marvel series Hit-Monkey is the last of its kind

Marvel’s Hit-Monkey was in fact planned along with other projects (MODOK, Howard the Duck, Tigra & Dazzler and The Offenders) as a series of the now defunct Marvel Television division. However, with the takeover by Kevin Feige’s Marvel Studios at the end of 2019, the implementation and continuation of the ideas was on thin ice.

Besides Marvel’s Hit-Monkey, only Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. made it to release, but was cancelled after just one season. The fact that the legacy Marvel’s Hit-Monkey, on the other hand, was renewed may therefore baffle some fans. However, Marvel has also said goodbye to the series. From now on, it will lose the Marvel suffix in the title and will only be called Hit-Monkey. It will henceforth be under the supervision of 20th Television Animation.

When will the second season of Hit-Monkey come to Disney+?

Season 1 of the Marvel series Hit-Monkey appeared on US streamer Hulu in late 2021 and on Disney+ just under two months later. However, the production status of the new episodes is difficult to estimate. We could imagine a release in the last few months of 2023.
