After a long hiatus, ProSieben finally airs a big blockbuster again on Sunday night. Unfortunately, it’s the cut version of a superhero smash hit.
Last year an era ended on ProSieben. From September 2022, the channel no longer aired blockbusters on Sunday primetime. Instead, shows or sports broadcasts were aired, which was only partially successful in terms of ratings. From 19 February, ProSieben will bring the popular show format Wer stiehlt mir die Show? with Joko Winterscheidt on Sunday evenings.
Before that, the Sunday blockbuster celebrates a comeback this week – but one with a negative aftertaste.
Comeback of Sunday blockbuster on ProSieben with Deadpool 2 cut
At 8:15 pm, ProSieben will be airing Deadpool 2 on 5 February. For Marvel fans actually a reason to rejoice, because the (anti-)superhero thriller with Ryan Reynolds sprays a lot of black humour and crude action.

During primetime on ProSieben, however, Deadpool 2 will inevitably only be shown in an edited version. Since the FSK 16 film runs before 10pm, the channel is only allowed to show a censored FSK 12 version. As can be seen on Schnittberichte, the violent Marvel spectacle is thus missing over three minutes of violence.
The joy about the comeback of the Sunday blockbuster on ProSieben therefore only lasts for a short time. In the cut version, a big appeal of Deadpool 2 is definitely lost. At Disney+ you can stream the Marvel smash hit uncut with a subscription. *
After Part 2, the cheeky anti-hero continues in the cinema next year. Deadpool 3 brings back Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and opens on the big screen in our country on 6 November 2024.
