Season 5 is set to be the series finale of Netflix hit Stranger Things. One of the stars has now revealed a timeframe for the start, which is further in the future than previously thought.
Stranger Things will come to an end with season 5, that much is certain. However, it is unclear when the final episodes of the sci-fi horror will land on Netflix. Assuming Mike actor Finn Wolfhard is right, though, we’ll be waiting a full two years for a sequel.
Stranger Things star will be 22 years old by season 5 start
The star revealed this now in a video for GQ on YouTube.
“I can hardly believe we’re on season 5 already. I’ll be 22 when it comes out and I started at 12. It’s sheer madness. I’ll be able to have a drink with [the rest of the cast] at the season 5 premiere. “
Wolfhard will be 22 years old on 23 December 2024. So if his assessment is based on facts actually available to him, we will in all likelihood not be able to expect season 5 of Stranger Things until 2025.
This is a far later date than many fans have previously assumed. After all, filming on Stranger Things season 5 was supposed to begin in May 2023. So even conservative estimates rather assumed a release in summer 2024.
