The current status of Star Trek 4 doesn’t sound hopeful
February 2022 last saw the most positive sign of life for Star Trek 4. A year ago, the sci-fi sequel was announced with a firm start date and director on board. However, Matt Shakman, who had previously been involved in the MCU series WandaVision, eventually bailed out, preferring to direct the new Fantastic Four movie for Marvel.
This loss in the director’s chair led to another drastic announcement last. In September 2022, the studio Paramount has completely removed Star Trek 4 from the release calendar for the time being. The decision surely has to do with the fact that a replacement for Shakman has to be found first.
The fourth part of the popular sci-fi series is thus once again without a director and start date. We will keep you informed about more positive developments regarding Star Trek 4.
