The Last of Us has proven how successful the adaptation of horror video games can be. Now, the adaptation of the incredibly popular scary franchise Dead by Daylight is set to land in the cinema.
The Last of Us is not only a hit series, but an internet sensation and proof that adapting a horror video game can be a hit. The same ambition is now shared by horror masters Jason Blum (Get Out) and James Wan (Conjuring). They are working on a conversion of Dead by Daylight.
Horror film Dead by Daylight could bring together quite a few well-known creeps
Variety reports. In the hit game from developer Behaviour Interactive, one party takes on the role of a killer creature that hunts the other players:inside. Among the selectable creeps are iconic original creations, but also well-known villains from films such as Halloween – The Night of Horror or Nightmare – Murderous Dreams.

Since its initial release date in 2016, the hit video game has garnered more than 50 million fans, according to Variety. Whether Dead by Daylight can repeat The Last of Us feat because of that is anyone’s guess. But thanks to Wan and Blum, the adaptation is already in expert hands.
