Before Keanu Reeves returns to the big screen next week as John Wick, you can watch one of his best films tonight on TV, namely On Behalf of the Devil.
Keanu Reeves is best known for two major film series: The Matrix and John Wick. Over the course of his career, however, he has also proven himself in many other films and genres. That it doesn’t always have to be an action thriller for Reeves to shine is shown, for example, by the 1997 mystery thriller On a Devil’s Dare.
What at first glance seems like an ordinary lawyer drama turns into an uneasy walk through the urban canyons of New York, with more and more horror elements finding their way into the story. And then there would be an unbelievable twist that turns the entire film on its head.
Keanu Reeves makes a deal with the devil
The film tells the story of a young lawyer, Kevin Lomax (Reeves), who has already won 64 cases for his clients. Thanks to this remarkable quota, he comes to the attention of the chairman of an influential New York law firm. John Milton (Al Pacino) does everything in his power to bring Kevin to the big city.
Here you can watch the trailer for The Devil’s Own:
A luxurious flat in Fith Avenue, a decent salary and acceptance into the high circles of the city: Kevin doesn’t even realise how much he is being seduced by Milton. Only later does he realise what a disastrous pact he has made. This pact ruins his life and his marriage to his wife Mary Ann (Charlize Theron).
