“Peaky Blinders” creator and “Spencer” writer Steven Knight should then have some work on his desk in the near future. Only recently we reported that he has been hired as a writer for the next “Star Wars” film, which is due to be released in December 2025. It is not yet known when the new “Vertigo” will start. John “Scottie” Ferguson (James Stewart) is a police officer, but quits after a chase over the rooftops of San Francisco. The mission ended traumatically and Scottie not only carries guilt, but now suffers from a fear of heights. He no longer sees himself fit to work as a police officer.
Some time later, Scottie is asked by a former classmate (Tom Helmore) to shadow his wife Madeleine (Kim Novak). Scottie is initially unsure whether he wants to take on this job, but then agrees. This is the beginning of a hellish trip for him, which in the end is not only about the question of true love, but also about life and death.
