The Star Wars universe will be expanded in 2023 with the Ahsoka series starring Rosario Dawson. Here you can find out everything about the cast, the trailer, the storyline and the launch on Disney+.
Ahsoka Tano is one of the most popular Star Wars characters and has already had a long journey. She was introduced in the 2008 feature film The Clone Wars, which served as the prelude to the animated series of the same name. In 2020, she made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian. Now she gets her first Star Wars series of her own.
When will the Ahsoka series launch on Disney+?
A concrete start date has not yet been set. However, it can be assumed that the Ahsoka series will start in the summer of 2023 on Disney+. As with the previous Star Wars series, we can expect a weekly release of the individual episodes. Specifically, a new episode will be released every Wednesday.
Who plays Ahsoka in the new
The actress of Ahsoka Tano is Rosario Dawson. She is known as Claire Temple from the Marvel Netflix series and Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof. She already appeared in The Mandalorian and the spin-off The Book of Boba Fett. However, she is not the first actress to bring Ahsoka to life.
In animation, Ashley Eckstein is behind the character. Eckstein has lent her voice to Ahsoka since The Clone Wars. Accordingly, she can also be heard in Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Powers That Be and Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi. In all three series, Ahsoka’s story is expanded in different ways.
Who is behind the Ahsoka series?
Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, who have already realised The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, hold the creative reins on Ahsoka. Filoni has been following the development of the titular character since her introduction in The Clone Wars. The first clapperboard for the Ahsoka series (working title Stormcrow) dropped in May 2022.
