A cult comic or cult film becomes a series: There is a first teaser for the anime adaptation of “Scott Pilgrim against the rest of the world”. And what fans will be particularly pleased about: The stars from the film are returning!
It has been known since January 2022 that Netflix is working on an anime series adaptation of “Scott Pilgrim vs. the Rest of the World”, although it will not be a sequel to the film, but a new interpretation of the legendary comic book.
Now there is a first teaser for “Scott Pilgrim” and even if there is nothing to see yet, it should cause great joy among fans of the series, because it confirms that the stars of the cult film from 2010 will once again lend their voices to their characters.
In addition to ex-“Captain America” Chris Evans, who will cause a lot of trouble as ex-boyfriend Lucas Lee, Michael Cera will once again lend his voice to the hopeless romantic Scott Pilgrim, who has to compete against the ex-girlfriends of his new flame Ramona Flowers (again voiced by Mary Elizabeth Winstead).
Satya Bhabha (Matthew Patel), Kieran Culkin (Wallace Wells), Anna Kendrick (Stacey Pilgrim), Brie Larson (Envy Adams), Alison Pill (Kim Pine), Aubrey Plaza (Julie Powers), Brandon Routh (Todd Ingram), Jason Schwartzman (Gideon Graves), Johnny Simmons (Young Neil), Mark Webber (Stephen Stills), Mae Whitman (Roxie) and Ellen Wong (Knives Chau) once again lend their voices to their counterparts from the film.
“Scott Pilgrim vs. the Rest of the World” director Edgar Wright will accompany the series as executive producer. In addition, Bryan Lee O’Malley, the creator of the “Scott Pilgrim” graphic novel, has been recruited for the series. Together with Ben-David Grabinski, he wrote the script for the anime version of the extraordinary coming-of-age story. Both will also serve as showrunners for the series.
