Keanu Reeves has a big heart and a sense of humour. This is proven once again by the T-shirts he gave to the stunt crew of “John Wick: Chapter 4. “
Everybody loves Keanu Reeves. The reason is not only his films but also the person he presents himself as in public. Reeves presents himself as courteous, empathetic, wise, unassuming, humorous and full of life. That you just have to like Keanu Reeves is now proven by another action brought by the action star in the course of the filming of “John Wick: Chapter 4”.
According to the New York Times, Keanu Reeves is said to have given the entire stunt crew T-shirts with the number of times each stunt person was killed in “John Wick: Chapter 4” printed on them.
For some members of the stunt crew, the number was even over 20! How can this be? It has to do with the fact that a stuntman or stuntwoman doesn’t just shoot one scene, but has to face John Wick in several sequences as an interchangeable henchman – and that’s where you inevitably get the short end of the stick.
In the sensational fight in the Sacré-Coeur basilica in Paris alone, where John Wick has to fight heaps of baddies while running up the 222 steps, several stunt people were killed several times. In total, the production of “John Wick: Chapter 4” employed a stunt crew consisting of 35 people.
T-SHIRTS WERE NOT THE ONLY GIFT
The T-shirts, meanwhile, are not the only gift Keanu Reeves has given his stunt team in “John Wick: Chapter 4.” As People magazine reported back in 2021, at the end of the film’s production Reeves gave his four-person stunt team – by which he also means his doubles – personalised Submariner Rolex watches. A thank you for their hard work that cannot be appreciated often enough.
“John Wick: Chapter 4” has been running very (!) successfully in German cinemas since 23 March 2023. Actually, a fifth part was out of the question for director Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves. But that might have changed now, as you can read here:
