New series for “Outlander” star: Sam Heughan fulfils his darkest dreams.

Series fans might be familiar with Sam Heughan mainly because of his leading role in the romantic fantasy series “Outlander”. Now he has a new project on the go: the mini-series “The Couple Next Door”, in which there should be erotic sizzle…

Sam Heughan plays the Scotsman Jamie Fraser in the hit series “Outlander”. Now he’s trading in his kilt for a police badge. As Deadline reports, Heughan is taking on the male lead role in the six-part thriller series “The Couple Next Door”. His role is described as an “Alpha Traffic Cop” – what can we imagine by that…?

Well, the premise of the series is this: Couple Evie (Eleanor Tomlinson) and Pete (Alfred Enoch) move into an upscale neighbourhood. They quickly discover that in this world dominated by status anxiety, there is little way to hide anything from one’s nosy neighbours. When they befriend alpha traffic cop Danny (Sam Heughan) and his wife, glamorous yoga instructor Becka (Jessica De Gouw), things get complicated…

DARK DESIRES IN THE SUBURBS

Which complicates them is also already known. Among other things, “Danny spends a passionate night with Evie,” Deadline says of the series. If that’s not titillating enough, “The Couple Next Door” will be a “psychological drama exploring the crippling confines of suburbia and the inevitable consequences of following your darkest desires” – so we’re guessing Danny and Evie’s fling will be just the tip of the iceberg.

When and where we will see the Starz series “The Couple Next Door” in Germany has not yet been confirmed. But it probably won’t take too long, because the series is already being filmed in England and Belgium. By the way, the psycho-thriller series is based on the Dutch series “New Neighbours”, which is available as an import, for example, on Amazon.

Sam Heughan returns to screens as warring Scotsman Jamie Fraser in season 7 of “Outlander” on 16 June 2023. The season will be split into two halves, with the second half not being released until 2024. An eighth season has also been ordered – but it will be the last.

However, the franchise based on the books by Diana Gabaldon will then be continued with spin-offs. Among others, the prequel “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” about the parents of James Fraser is already concretely in the works.
