Star Wars: Rogue One 2 isn’t coming, but you can watch it on Disney+.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was extremely successful at the box office. However, there will not be a part 2. Instead, the story has been expanded to include a prequel series on Disney+.

With Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, director Gareth Edwards has created one of the best and most valuable Star Wars films of recent years. Not only is the spin-off of the star saga extremely popular with fans. The spin-off was a huge success at the box office – and has spawned an entire series.

When Rogue One hit the cinemas in 2016, it was anything but a given that the film would pass the billion mark at the box office. Lucasfilm and Disney ventured out of the familiar Skywalker environment for the first time and told a standalone story leading up to Star Wars.

Instead of Rogue One 2, there’s Andor on Disney+: it’s the best Star Wars series yet

The finale of Rogue One is both a curse and a blessing, with Edwards finding an emotional, sombre and consistent ending. Rogue One 2, however, makes no sense after that. For this reason, the film was expanded by a prequel series, which started last year on Disney+ and tells the prequel story. We’re talking about Andor.

You can watch the trailer for Andor here:

Andor sets five years before the events of Rogue One and brings Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, to the forefront. Before joining the Rebellion, he was on a quest to find his missing sister. However, a double murder in the darkness becomes his undoing.

With the Empire on his heels, he comes into contact with various figures from the Rebellion circle. He is recruited for a dangerous mission, ends up in a prison camp and has to witness how his home planet suffers under the Emperor’s arm of power. The result is the best Star Wars series yet.

The Legacy of Rogue One: Andor season 2 is already in production

The 1st season of Andor has a total of 12 episodes. Season 2 is currently filming and is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2024. In addition, Star Wars recently brought back another Rogue One character. The villain Orson Krennic appears in the Star Wars animated series The Bad Batch
