Shrek fans can rejoice. Part 5 of the fantasy cult is in the works and the original stars will most likely return. In addition, another spin-off seems very likely.
Shrek – The Daredevil Hero is a cherished childhood memory for many. However, a sequel to the series with the green ogre (German dubbing voice: Sascha Hehn), his wife Fiona (Esther Schweins) and the faithful donkey (Randolf Kronberg) has been quiet. Now it’s clear: Shrek 5 is indeed coming.
Fantasy fun Shrek 5 is coming and a donkey spin-off is possible
Producer Chris Meledrandi opened up to Variety that he is currently working with studio DreamWorks on Shrek 5. On the part of the original voice actors such as Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz, there is “tremendous enthusiasm” to take on their roles again. However, the cast has not yet been officially confirmed.
Incidentally, Meledrandi teased a spin-off with the donkey, who “without question” could get his own film. However, the producer did not reveal any more details about further franchise developments.
