Disney+ brings back extremely popular sci-fi cult series – after 10 (!)

After 10 years, new episodes of Futurama are coming to Disney+. Now the start for season 11 of the extremely popular sci-fi series is set.

The sci-fi series Futurama from Simpsons creator Matt Groening last went off the air in 2013. Then, in early February 2023, it was announced that new episodes of the animated cult hit were coming this year. Now the start of the 11th season Futurama has also been confirmed for Disney+ in Germany.

Futurama season 11 brings back original stars

In a press release it was confirmed that the new Futurama episodes will also run in our country from July 24 on Disney+. The episodes appear thereby not at one blow, but in weekly intervals. On Twitter, the Hulu launch for the US was also announced:

After contract negotiations, the original voice actors:inside return for the new Futurama episodes. Joining them again in the English version are John DiMaggio as Bender, Billy West as Fry and Katey Sagal as Leela.

In the press release from Disney, it was announced that the total of 10 new episodes are just as suitable for Futurama newcomers as for long-time fans, who can look forward to the resolution of old mysteries.

These include developments in the epic love story between Fry and Leela, the mysterious contents of Nibbler’s litter box, the secret history of the evil robot Santa Claus, and the whereabouts of Kif and Amy’s tadpoles.
