Since May 17, Vin Diesel and his team again roar over the highways of world history. But Fast and Furious 10 ends quite differently than any part of the action franchise before. We answer all the questions about the confusing last minutes of Fast X. Because this is where events roll over. Warning: spoilers follow.
Explanation 1: Fast and Furious 10 is the first installment of the series’ split finale
Fast and Furious 10 is one of the longest films in the franchise, running 141 minutes. And yet, this installment ends extremely abruptly. Yes, actually, it doesn’t have a real ending at all. The movie stops in the middle of the fight between Dom Toretto and Jason Momoas Dante. Dom and his son Brian just survived a massive explosion at Hoover Dam. The plane with Roman, Tej and Ramsey on board crashed, and the fate of the characters is unknown. We see Jason Momoa’s vengeful villain again, arming another massive bomb. The countdown is about to start …
Then the cut follows and we travel to Antarctica, where Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Cipher (Charlize Theron) have escaped their prison. Here comes the next surprise, which also causes confusion (see point 2).
When does Fast 11 continue? Fast 10 uses the same “trick” as Avengers 3: Infinity War. In Infinity War, the plot also broke off practically in the middle of the film. Avengers 3 and Avengers 4: Endgame were two chapters of a story that concluded the Infinity saga. Just like Fast 10 and 11. The difference: Avengers 4 started only a year after Avengers 3. Fast & Furious 11 will probably not manage that. The film is definitely coming, but filming has not yet begun on the planned franchise finale. Fast 11 will probably not start until 2025. Explanation 2: Gal Gadot returns from the dead as Gisele, but how?

Fast and Furious has lost all shame in the return of characters who are actually dead. Fast 9 most recently conjured Han (Sung Kang) back among the living. The next candidate: Gisele. Gal Gadot’s character died in Fast & Furious 6 pretty clearly in the finale on the runway. For 10 years she stayed away from the series: Fast 7, 8 and 9 she sat out. However, we never saw her body. In Fast 10, she makes her comeback from beyond the grave. And a, sorry, more awesome appearance Gal Gadot could hardly have wished for.
How could Gisele return? In Antarctica with Letty and Cipher, a nuclear submarine breaks through the ice sheet. Out of the door rises: Gisele. She was part of Cipher’s rescue plan. So does Charlize Theron’s character have something to do with her return? More likely, Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell) has his fingers in the pie. Mr. Nobody has already been responsible for Han’s fake death, and in Fast 9 he hinted at having pulled this off before, and better. Did he mean Gisele? I guess we’ll get a final explanation in Fast 11.
