The John Wick producers have announced part 5 of the action series with Keanu Reeves. What would have otherwise excited fans is now causing a lot of frustration and incomprehension.
John Wick: Chapter 4 feels like an extravagant conclusion to the action saga with Keanu Reeves. Nonetheless, John Wick: Chapter 5 has been in the works for a long time. According to Comic Book the producers at Lionsgate have confirmed work on the sequel. Many fans are not at all thrilled about this.
No John Wick 5: Fans of the Keanu Reeves series are calling for an end
“[John Wick 4 is a] perfect ending. […] It’s over. Call it a day,” reads one on Twitter, for example, or simply “Let him rest!”. Another fan declares that he would also watch a fifth part immediately. Nevertheless, a sequel would be unnecessary.

From the producers’ perspective, working on the sequel makes a lot of sense. According to The Numbers John Wick 4 was a success at the box office, as were each of its predecessors. Besides John Wick 5, there are also three other films and series to come.
Whether a fifth part is appropriate in terms of story is another matter. Many viewers of John Wick 4 will ask whether the emotional finale will not be diluted by a sequel. Or how the action bombast of part 4 can even be topped.
