Kohlrabenschwarz is a thrilling crime novel full of mystery and mysticism: former police psychologist Stefan Schwab is haunted by inexplicable events in his tranquil Bavarian life. Children disappear, mysterious objects turn up and old old wives’ tales suddenly become disturbingly real. Familiar myths such as the Kraxelmann, Bloody Thomas and the Pied Piper of Hamelin suddenly seem to come alive. The police overlook the obvious connection between the cases and Schwab’s old friend, Inspector Falbner, also turns out to be of little help.

Only when Schwab receives a mysterious fairy tale book from a mysterious informant does it dawn on him that a perfidious plan could be behind the gruesome crimes.
