The Flash brings back many well-known DC characters. We have compiled a list of the most important cameos in the superhero spectacle with Batman, Superman and Co.

It’s no longer a secret: The Flash is to DC what Spider-Man: No Way Home was to Marvel. What does that mean? In a multiverse adventure, the boundaries of an existing franchise (in this case, the DC Extended Universe) are broken down to bring in characters from other film series.

Which DC characters have made it into The Flash? We’ve rounded up all the big cameos and guest appearances in a comprehensive list. Before you read on, an explicit spoiler warning! The Flash draws on the entire DC history and comes up with a few surprises.

We get to see three different versions of the main character alone. Ezra Miller embodies not only Barry Allen from the DCEU, but also a younger version from another dimension. This is joined at the end of the film by a third Barry, who is more or less addicted to the dark side of the Force: Dark Flash.

In addition, The Flash comes up with cheated cameos. Henry Cavill’s Superman, for example, only appears briefly from behind in a news broadcast. In addition, the laughter of a Joker can be heard during the big multiverse sequence at the end. According to rumours, there should even have been a cameo by Linda Carter as Wonder Woman, but we couldn’t spot her in the finished film.

Speaking of which, as impressive as the cameo parade is at first glance, the absence of a few names is quite surprising. In a multiverse film called The Flash, an appearance by Grant Gustin, who embodied the Red Flash in the DC series The Flash from 2014 to 2023 and has even had an encounter with Miller’s version of the character thanks to a crossover event in 2020, would definitely have lent itself.

In addition, the return of Christian Bale as Batman from The Dark Knight trilogy would have lent itself. Brandon Routh could have brought back his Superman from Superman Returns and if we’re honest, Tom Welling, who portrayed Clark Kent in Smallville from 2001 to 2011, would also have been perfect for the film. But maybe DC is keeping these options open for future projects.
