Speaking of which, as impressive as the cameo parade is at first glance, the absence of a few names is quite surprising. In a multiverse film called The Flash, an appearance by Grant Gustin, who embodied the Red Flash in the DC series The Flash from 2014 to 2023 and has even had an encounter with Miller’s version of the character thanks to a crossover event in 2020, would definitely have lent itself.
In addition, the return of Christian Bale as Batman from The Dark Knight trilogy would have lent itself. Brandon Routh could have brought back his Superman from Superman Returns and if we’re honest, Tom Welling, who portrayed Clark Kent in Smallville from 2001 to 2011, would also have been perfect for the film. But maybe DC is keeping these options open for future projects.
