The casting directors of The Rookie had a particularly good time with the episode A Fallen Star. They cast Malcolm Mittendrin favourite Frankie Muniz in the role of a fallen child star and his fans are loving it
Frankie Muniz is known to anyone who turned on a TV in the 2000s. He was Malcolm in the 2000s cult sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. Muniz has been competing in competitive car racing since as early as 2007, which is why he is rarely seen in films or series. Before he became a full-time racer earlier this year, he still delighted fans with a guest appearance in Season 3 of the popular police series The Rookie.
On Netflix: Malcolm in the Middle star plays himself as a narcissistic cult leader in The Rookie
The The Rookie episode with Frankie Muniz is the 7th episode of season 3 and is called A Fallen Star. In the original, the episode is titled True Crime, as in it John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and his team are interviewed for a True Crime documentary about a recently solved case. The case is about former child star Corey Harris (Frankie Muniz), who is now a cult leader.
Series character Corey Harris, like Frankie Muniz himself, starred as a child in a hit sitcom – of which The Rookie main character John Nolan is a big fan. Seeing him as a narcissistic murder suspect breaks Nolan’s heart.
