Netflix will soon be getting rid of 14 terrific films. Affected are sci-fi blockbusters, fantasy hits and a 3-hour secret tip.
At Netflix, spring cleaning also likes to come in June. At the end of the month, the streamer throws out a whole 14 (!) great films, including masterpieces from the sci-fi and fantasy genres, as well as some of the best films of all time.
Sci-fi milestone and 2000s cult film leave Netflix programme
This includes Steven Spielberg’s incredible sci-fi smash Minority Report, fantasy favourite Dragon Taming Made Easy 2, neo-western Wind River and GoodFellas – Three Decades in the Mafia, which many fans consider one of the best films of all time. With Gladiator, one of the biggest cult films ever must also leave the programme.
Incidentally, Netflix is throwing out a German masterpiece that far too few know about. Berlin Alexanderplatz retells Alfred Döblin’s novel of the same name about the Berlin underworld of the 1920s. The 1980 miniseries was written by exceptional director Rainer Werner Fassbinder.
