ProSieben airs four early Bond films with Sean Connery on Friday evening. Even if the order doesn’t matter, it makes all the more sense.
With Sean Connery, James Bond was first coined as the most iconic secret agent in cinema history. Starting in 1962, the Scotsman played the character in James Bond 007 Chases Dr. No for a total of seven films. ProSieben will broadcast four of them in succession on Friday evenings from 8:15 pm until the following morning.
Even though the order of the early Bond films doesn’t matter much compared to the later Daniel Craig parts, ProSieben airs the films in a very confusing way.
ProSieben airs early Bond films in complete confusion
It is not known whether the channel preferred to focus on the quality of the films. It is at least not surprising that the Bond marathon on ProSieben begins with James Bond 007 – Goldfinger. For many 007 fans it is the best James Bond film ever. It is followed by James Bond 007 – Fireball, which is still chronologically correct.
However, this is followed by the very first Connery Bond Dr. No in the night at 01:20. After that, James Bond 007 – Liebesgrüße aus Moskau is then shown again chronologically correct, which again is one of the most popular Bond films.
Why ProSieben does not simply broadcast the films in the chronologically correct order remains a secret of the channel.
