The return to the fascinating science fiction world of the Tron universe is drawing ever closer. After Marvel star Jared Leto, the second leading actor of the sequel has now been confirmed.
With Tron Legacy, the second part of the science fiction series founded by Tron in 1982 came to the cinema in 2010. How does the story continue? For 13 years we have been waiting for the next sequel. So far, however, Tron 3 has suffered more defeats than successes. The project has been put on hold again and again.
Currently, however, the chances are very good that Tron 3 will actually become reality after all these years in development hell. After Jared Leto (Morbius) was signed up for the lead role, the next cast member has now been announced: Evan Peters will dive into the extremely stylish computer world in Tron 3.
Sci-fi sequel: Dahmer star Evan Peters joins Jared Leto in Tron 3 cast
As The Hollywood Reporter reports, Evans will be seen in front of the camera alongside Leto in Tron 3. The actor is fresh off the Netflix success Dahmer – Monster: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer. In addition, he is part of the American Horror Story ensemble and is known as Quicksilver from the X-Men films.
What role Evans will play in Tron 3 is unclear. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the plot revolves around a soldier in the virtual Tron world and a real-world gamer who sooner or later clash. The film will be directed by Joachim Rønning, who has already been involved in two major Disney blockbusters: Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Salazar’s Revenge and Maleficent 2: Powers of Darkness.
