Tonight you can watch an absolute science fiction masterpiece on TV. The legendary Blade Runner starring Harrison Ford will be shown.
With Blade Runner, director Ridley Scott has created a monument of science fiction cinema. Released in 1982, the film is as influential in style as few other works in the history of moving pictures. Shaped by characteristic features of film noir, the result here is a dreamy, feverish and sopping cyberpunk frenzy.
Particularly exciting: there are a total of seven (!) versions of the film. Since its cinema release, Blade Runner has been revised and recut several times. Sometimes even the end of the story was changed. In 2007, the version that Scott is most satisfied with was finally released.

You can find more details in our overview of all Blade Runner versions. Among the most notable changes is the Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) voice-over, which was present in the original theatrical version but was later completely deleted. The final cut also comes up with an ambivalent final thought, which clearly opposes a happy ending to the dystopian story.
