Amazon Prime’s Lord of the Rings series The Rings of Power has a very special character returnee in Season 2, who we already know from Peter Jackson’s film trilogy.

Amazon’s great fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has now shot its 2nd season, but is keeping mum on details about the series continuation in Middle-earth. It won’t be released on Prime * until next year, but already the exciting cast for Galadriel’s husband Celeborn, who was missing in season 1, has been leaked.

Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series casts Calam Lynch as Galadriel’s husband

The prospect of a reunion with Frodo’s scariest foe in The Rings of Power delighted us last. Now, the Lord of the Rings site Fellowship of Fans, known for its mostly reliable leaks, has apparently identified another character returnee from the films: Calam Lynch is to play Galadriel’s husband Celeborn in season 2 – in silver, dark blue and gold costumes.

The 28-year-old British actor Calam Lynch might be known to German audiences mainly from the 2nd season of the Netflix series Bridgerton, where he played the printer-helper Theo Sharpe in 2022. The new Lord of the Rings actor made his screen debut in 2017 as a sailor in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. He has also since appeared in the films Benediction and Black Beauty, as well as individual episodes of Derry Girls and Mrs Wilson. Now he lends his face to a younger edition of Celeborn.

In Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Galadriel’s husband Celeborn was portrayed by Marton Csokas.
