Regardless of whether the return of old Harry Potter stars to the new series would be a misdeed committed or a brilliant move: Unlike Daniel Radcliffe, two actors can well imagine a reappearance – under one condition.
A remake of the Harry Potter story is currently being prepared at the Max channel (formerly HBO Max). And other than Harry actor Daniel Radcliffe, two popular stars of the film series are toying with the idea of their return to the Harry Potter series.
“Never quite finished”: The Weasley twins would love to join the Harry Potter series
Daniel Radcliffe most recently declared a resounding no to a Harry Potter reunion, even if he is eager to see his successor. But not all actors:inside the eight feature films are as inclined as the leading actor to turn their backs on Hogwarts for good. When promoting their new series Fantastic Friends, James Phelps and Oliver Phelps, the former Weasley twins Fred and George, did not rule out their return to the Harry Potter universe.
Speaking to the New York Post, George actor Oliver Phelps said specifically:

“I do think [that we would be interested in a return to the Potter universe]. It’s one of those chapters of life that’s never quite closed. But whether or not as our characters [Fred and George Weasley], that’s a whole other question. We don’t quite look like schoolboys any more! If it happens at all – we know as much as you do. But it’s nice that there’s a lot of interest in the series. “
So if the twins were to appear again, they would only do so in new, age-appropriate roles. Unlike Daniel Radcliffe, they apparently have no qualms about crashing the new series as guests, possibly mixing two Harry Potter universes. And the two good-for-nothings would probably even do so with a smiling whispered “misdeed done”.
We won’t know until 2025 at the earliest whether such an appearance, which currently exists only as a thought experiment, will really happen. Or rather in the 10 years after the start of the series, over which the 7 seasons of the Harry Potter remake are to unfold. However, we will certainly find out sooner what cast changes are in store.
