The seventh Transformers movie marks the second time the sci-fi franchise has been rebooted. You can watch the latest blockbuster now in your home theater.
The Transformers series was slowly going downhill financially. After Michael Bay’s fifth film disappointed at the box office, the franchise was rebooted with Bumblebee in 2018 without the riot master – with little success. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts from this year is now the second reboot of the series in five years.
If you missed the seventh Transformers installment in theaters, you can now stream the sci-fi blockbuster in your home theater. The 4K version is now available for purchase on Amazon. Otherwise, you can also get the blockbuster on Apple TV, Maxdome or in the Google Play Store.
That’s what Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is all about
The latest film in the series is set in 1994, where two archaeologist:s Noah (Anthony Ramos) and Elena (Dominique Fishback) get caught up in an age-old confrontation between the Autobots and various evil Transformers types like Predacons and Terrorcons. Looming over everything is the arrival of the evil Unicron, who is as big as a planet and could destroy the world.
The new Transformers part has again not become a high-flyer financially
At the worldwide box office, Steven Caple Jr.’s new Transformers installment still couldn’t match old successes like parts 3 and 4. With a budget of around $200 million, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts grossed a good $436 million globally, according to Box Office Mojo. Overall, the franchise has a combined worldwide box office of over $5.2 billion.
This makes the sci-fi blockbuster only a very mild success. It is not known how the Transformers series will continue in the future.
